Ostler

Pricing

$499, once.

That’s the whole price. No subscription, no per-booking fee, no “starting at,” no asterisk. The subscription systems in this market run $40–$110 every month — Ostler costs less than one year of that, one time.

Pay once on Stripe’s secure page. Your license key arrives by email; paste it into the app and you’re done — activation happens on your computer, with no account and no phone-home. The key is also your proof of ownership if a password is ever forgotten.

What it honestly doesn’t include

These need servers running somewhere, and Ostler Desktop’s core promise is that it never depends on ours. They’re planned for a future Ostler Cloud subscription — and when it exists, a one-click full export moves your data there. No feature below is hidden behind the Desktop price.

  • Online booking widget for your websiteneeds a server to take bookings while the office computer is off
  • Guest self-serve pages (forms, balance payment links that outlive the office PC)needs hosting on our side
  • OTA / channel sync (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com)keeping calendars in sync with booking sites needs a server
  • Text messages (SMS)carrier registration and per-message costs
  • QuickBooks live syncthe CSV/Excel report exports carry every column QuickBooks needs — your bookkeeper maps them once on import
  • Mobile companion app with push alertspush needs a server between us and your phone
  • Several front-desk computers on one databasesee “one machine per install” below

One machine per install

Ostler Desktop is built for one front-desk computer. Your data is a local database file, and sharing that file across computers on a network drive corrupts it — so we don’t pretend otherwise. If your hotel runs several front-desk terminals at once, Ostler Desktop is the wrong product for you today; that’s exactly what the future Cloud edition is for. Email support@getostler.com and we’ll tell you when it’s real.

Fair questions

What does “one-time” actually mean?
You pay once and the app is yours: it activates offline against a key we sign, updates itself from published releases, and never needs our servers to run. If Ostler shut down tomorrow, your copy would keep working — bookings, email, payments, all of it.
Are there any per-booking costs at all?
From Ostler, none — ever. Record as many reservations, deposits, and payments as you like; the price you paid is the whole price.
What computers does it run on?
Windows 10/11 and macOS. Install it on the front-desk computer; a modest office machine is plenty.
What happens to my data if I stop using Ostler?
It's yours, in a standard database file on your machine, and one click exports everything to a single portable file. No export fee, no lock-in.
Do you see my reservations or my guests?
No. Your data never leaves your computer unless you back it up somewhere you choose. The only thing Ostler-the-company ever handles is your license purchase.
How do I get help?
The ? on each setup screen opens the matching part of the setup guide, and support@getostler.com reaches a person.
